Dana Weissbach, August, 2006, vol. 1, no. 8

“To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best day and night to make you like everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight and never stop fighting.”
- E. E. Cummings

Most of us know what we need to do to get the body and life that we want (eat right, be physically active, enjoy healthy self-esteem, nurture healthy relationships, limit alcohol consumption, avoid cigarettes and drugs, spend money wisely, get adequate sleep, etc…) and we all have aspirations and hopes for improving ourselves.

So how come its so hard to do? It sounds simple.

To be sure, there are no easy answers. But, I believe part of the problem lies in the messages (spoken and unspoken) that we receive.

Although, we are slowly beginning to receive more positive messages regarding all aspects of health; physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, it seems that these positive messages are still a whisper compared to the ROARING negative messages we’re bombarded with everyday. Sometimes, the path to improving one’s body and life can feel so daunting. Ever feel like you’re fighting a losing battle?

Today, in order to be strong and vital in body and mind, you have to fight to be fit! Boxing helps you to do this; literally and figuratively. The intense, physical nature of boxing training builds a strong body, but it also fortifies mental stamina and toughness. Let’s face it, our world is not easy to navigate and the myriad of temptations and pressures are endless.

It takes a ‘fighting spirit’ to go against the mainstream and to lead the kind life that you truly want. It takes an iron will and rock-solid determination to Be Yourself and to become the BEST that you can be.

Therefore, Boxing helps you be yourself, and Being Yourself is Better Living.

On Monday, August 28 th, the bell will sound as Round 1 begins.

So, the question is…Are you up for the Fight?!

We hope to see you on the gallery!
